And so the traveling begins…again
Travitude
(n.) When you start to get grumpy and sassy because you missing traveling
With the COVID pandemic hitting the US last March, it’s been over a year since I last traveled. 417 days to be exact. For someone like me who is constantly looking to plan my next trip by the time I touch down back in NJ, it feels like ages ago since I flew anywhere, let alone left the Tri-State area. My wings had been temporarily dismantled, and my travel bug was itching away.
Luckily I was surround by amazing people to get me through year one of COVID and realized things were not as bad as it seemed. I shifted my planning skills to search for local COVID safe activities during the year of 2020, and honestly looking back I had a pretty damn good time. Fast forward to now, with the vaccines rolling out, state lockdowns and rules being lifted…life overall feels like we’re returning back to normal or at least headed in the right direction.
While plenty of my friends traveled during 2020, I just didn’t feel ready. People were getting sick, I was nervous, some of my close family/friends were in the “high risk” category so I decided to play it safe and stay home. Thankfully they are all now vaccinated or will be by the time I return home.
Conscious, clear. United airlines, start your engines.
My first flight takes off this Friday to the beautiful island of Oahu, Hawaii.
